Our
golf year is off to a busy start and lucky for us our new 2009 LCOM Rosters have arrived! No excuses for not
knowing what is going on! From phone numbers to tournament dates to golf game formats and Bylaws, everything
is there for the asking. Thank you P.K. for putting in so much time and effort. It looks great!
Get your clubs ready...there’s lots of golf ahead! President’s
Cup is about to commence in a couple of weeks. Three weeks of fun yet competitive golf await 32 lucky ladies. Are
you one of them? There’s still time to sign up in the locker room. Spring Team, captained
by Karen Jordan and Patty Collins, is getting ready for what we know will be a fun and challenging season, and thanks to Georgianna
and Ali who kicked off the new year with our new Belle Ringers, about 45 of us have signed
on to see just how good we can possibly get over the next several months. It will be fun to track our progress.
Be sure to take a look at the “Special Events” bulletin board to keep
on top of all club activities, and take note of the “Monday Play” dates listed below.

response to the "Belle" Ringer event. At this time we have 46 ladies playing - 23 from the red tees, 23 from the white/red.

you have not signed up, please join us, it is never too late to participate. Put your $20 entry fee in one of our lockers

2009 PRESIDENT’S CUP TOURNAMENT ~
Jill Blurton-Jones ~ Ladies our next major tournament is PRESIDENT'S CUP. If you have
never participated in match play, this is the time! Match play is the oldest and purest form of the honorable game of golf....just
you and your opponent...hole by hole…the game of gentlemen and gentlewomen...and probably the most exciting of golf
competitions. Aren't we all glued to the T.V. during Ryder Cup? It's a fun format, for both low and high handicappers.
Based on a double elimination, you have two chances to move up the ladder and win one of the flights. Rounds
1 & 2 are flexible dates, making it easy for you to schedule you match. The Rounds will be played from the Red Tees. The Presidents Cup dates are: Round
1 Feb 17 - 20 Round 2 Feb 21 - 24 Quarter Finals Thurs
26th Feb Semi Finals Tues 3rd March President's
Cup Finals Thurs 5th March
****If needed and it rains you may arrange your final Match anytime between March 6-24**** The Beautiful

GUEST DAY ~ DANI RATKELIS ~ Please mark your calendars for the next Guest Day. It will be on March 12, 2009. COUPLES EVENTS ~ Carolyn McGuire ~
March 1st is the date
for the next 9-Whine and Dine. These are always
fun. There is NO game andNO prizes. This event is intended for 9 holes of golf starting at 4:00
p.m. followed by drinks and dinner. Get together and meet new members and new golfers. Sign
up on ForeTees (under events) or in the pro shop. Give it a try!!! Any questions
just ask Sally Orgera.
A very popular event, the Bit of Blarney Couples Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th with
a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Members may invite another couple as their guests or members may play with another
member couple. We will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with 18 holes of golf, special contests, traditional Irish dinner, music and dancing, and ,of course, prizes. Watch for our flyers with
additional information on this tournament. Any questions contact--Kathy Lyons, Sherri Romito or Carolyn

NINE HOLERS ~ BARBARA BEHRENS ~ Welcome to our new 9-Holer, Vickie
Kramer. Because of a growing interest to play the back nine we will have the opportunity on Tuesday, January, 27th. We are
looking forward to this new experience. February we have planned a four week eclectic so the girls will get some experience
in score keeping and competition. There will be a prize for the low gross winner.
Please spread the word
of our 9-Holer program with the Tuesday Play Days, and the General Meeting Day Clinic, golf and lunch. It is a great way to
learn how to play golf and meet new friends. Please call me or Mary Kay Minner. LIBRARY NOTES ~ Marie DiDonato
~ January, February and March are good months
for reading books. What could be better than sitting in front of a fire on a cold day or night with a really good book. Only
problem is our Library has not been receiving many new books. Will you help to change this????
Also, if you have movies you’re tired of watching, and books on tape you’ve
heard many times, please donate them too.
