Our Fearless Leader Suzi |
|
Ladies Club Chairman with Jefe de Policia |
CHAIRMAN
~ SUZI OLSEN ~
It’s hard to believe, but we are closing
in on the halfway mark of ’08. The months have gone by quickly and I realize
how lucky and privileged I have been to work with such an incredible group of women!
Each and every one of the board members is smart, creative, talented and dedicated. I
feel we have accomplished much in the past five months due to the time and effort they have put in to make our Ladies Club
the best it can be. With your continued support of our playdays, guest
events and tournaments, and we can only grow bigger and better!
June brings
us a few new changes. To go along with our new scorecards, we will be receiving
a new and improved fleet of golf carts in the next few weeks! We will also be
welcoming Kip Evans, our new Asst Greens Superintendent, a new front desk receptionist (as Maggie is leaving), a new dinner
menu, and a new twist to our Friday night happy hour. Read the Weekly Wire for
more details.
I look forward to seeing you all at the June 5th meeting when we will fill you in on even more “new”
happenings! Til then...Suzi
....P.S. Don’t forget your raffle
money...you may win a trip to the “Bahamas”!! |

CINCO DE MAYO
~ Joey, Judy, & Tina ~
Muchas Gracias to all
who helped make this year's Couple's Member/Guest so much fun. Our putting green and driving range were transformed into Hussongs
Cantina and the Jefe de Policia de Baja reminded everyone to play by the rules. The food was fabulous, and you may have heard
a few tales about the amount of margarita salt used that evening, or that everyone danced until the DJ closed down...and the
rumors are all true! The photos tell the true story. Next year, you will not want to miss this Marbella tradition.

NINE-HOLERS
~ KATHERINE SZEM ~
We have expanded our horizons and played "Match Play" for the first time.
With the always exciting leadership of PK Jenican and her "assistant", JaiSoo Bahng, on May 6 our 9-Holers learned the basics
of Match Play and thentook on the course and each other. What an exciting day! Two of the matches went down to
the final hole, #9 and one ended in a tie. Chambers over Grisanti; McGlothlin tied Danto; Ristoff over Canetti.)
On May 13, Carol Warlick spread her knowledge and good cheer with our 9-Holers and encouraged them play to their hearts content.
Then on May 20, PK and Suzi Olsen gave helpful instructions and advice on keeping up the pace of play. Finally, on May 22,
we went over different formats of play as we unraveled the mysteries of Scrambles, Shambles, Best Ball, Odd/Even, Mutt &
Jeff and other fun games shown in the Roster. Thank you PK, Jai Soo, Carol and Suzi for taking care of our 9-Holers
during my vacation.
I wish to thank so many of our 18-Holers for welcoming, coaching and giving our 9-Holers such warm
vibes!!! We're looking forward to our next clinic on June 5. Please help spread the word and pass on to any lady
interested in learning to play golf my phone number, 949-248-1456 or my e-mail, szem@earthlink.net.
